Ingredients

Kasoori methi 1/2 cup
Green peas 2 cups
Fresh cream 1/2 cup
Finely chopped onion 1/2 cup
Tomato puree 1 cup
Green chilies 2 pieces
Ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
Amchur powder 1/4 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon
Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon
Whole red chili 2 pieces
Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Green cardamom 2 pieces
Bay leaf 2 pieces
Cloves 4 pieces
Black pepper 4 pieces
Salt 1 tablespoon
Vegetable oil 4 tablespoons
   

 

Preparation

Soak green peas in hot water for 5 minutes.
Soak Kasoori methi in hot water for 5 minutes. After 5 mins drain out water.
Make a fine paste of green chilies and ginger-garlic paste by mixing together and keep aside.

Cooking
  • Step 1

Add oil in a hot pan and wait until oil gets hot. Add cumin seeds and other whole spices and sauté a little bit and now add ginger-garlic paste and chopped onion. Sauté till onion turns to a golden brown.

  • Step 2

Add turmeric powder, amchur powder, coriander powder, and salt. Sauté and mix with onion. Add tomato puree. Mix well and Sauté till water evaporates and oil separates out.

  • Step 3

Add kasoori methi and green peas into the mixture and sauté for 1 min. Add 1/2 cup water and mix well.

Cover pan for 3-4 mins, and let mixture cook in low medium heat.

  • Step 4

Add cream into the mixture and mix well. Let the mixture cook for 2 more mins.

  • Step 5

Add garam masala and mix into the material of step 4 and cook a min. Turn off the heat and your Methi Malai Matar Curry is ready to serve.

Serving

Serve hot Methi Malai Matar Curry along with roti, naan, poori, or rice.
