Ingredients

Toor Dal 1/2 Cup
Chopped Onion 1/2 Cup
Chopped Garlic 2 Tablespoon
Chopped Paalak (Spinach) 1 cup
Chopped Tomatoes 1/2 Cup
Heeng A Pinch
Red chili powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Curry leaves 4-5 pieces
Arhar dal masala 2 teaspoons(optional)

Chopped Green chilis 2 teaspoons
Chopped Ginger 1/2 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder    3 tablespoons
Salt 1 teaspoon
Ghee 3 tablespoons

 

Preparation

Cook Toor dal with salt and turmeric powder until it gets soft.

Cooking
  • Step 1

Heat a pan, add ghee and let ghee hot. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves. let them splatter.

  • Step 2

Add onions, sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add ginger, garlic, heeng, and sauté until onions get golden brown.

  • Step 3

Add tomatoes and cover them until get mushy, fry ll material for 2-3 minutes.

  • Step 4

Add palak (Spinach) in a mixture of step 3 and saute for 2-3 minutes then add red chili powder, arhar dal masala, mix well, and add cooked dal.

  • Step 5

To prepare tadka, add ghee into a small pan, let it heat up fully now add chopped garlic, whole red chilis in ghee. Once all material splattered and pour the whole material on top of the dal mixture which you have at step 4.

Serving

Garnish with cilantro and peanuts and it's ready to serve.
