Mint rice is a very aromatic dish. It’s very flavorful cooked with fresh mint herb and whole spices. You can enjoy it at the time of lunch or dinner.

Mint leaves | 3 Cups |
Onion long slit | 1/2 Cup |
Bayleaf | 1 Piece |
Cinnamon | 1 Piece |
Cloves | 4 Pieces |
Shahi jeera | 1 Teaspoon |
Ginger-garlic paste | 1 Teaspoon |
Split green chilies | 2 pieces |
Garam Masala Powder | 1 Teaspoon |
Oil | 2 Tablespoons |
Ghee | 1 Tablespoon |
Salt | 1/2 Tablespoons |
Preparation
Cook rice with 1 teaspoon oil so that it does not stick together.
Take 2 and a half cup mint into a blender and add 2 teaspoon water and make a smooth paste. Add a little more water if required.
Slit onion in form of long thin slices.
Prepare a half cup of chopped mint leaves.

Heat a pan and add oil and ghee. Once the oil is hot add all the whole spices and let them splutter then add onion and green chilies and sauté for 2 minutes.

Add ginger-garlic paste again sauté for another minute. Add garam masala and salt.

Now it’s time to add the mint paste and chopped mint together and sauté until oil gets separated.

Add boiled rice and mix well. You can adjust salt as per your taste.
Cook for 2 -3 minutes then turn off the heat and your mint rice is ready to serve.
Serving
Serve hot Mint Rice in a rice bowl and decorate with a fresh mint leaf and lemon slice. Serve with raita or just plain curd.
