This recipe of Tamarind fried rice is especially for Instant pot. You will prepare yummy fried rice with no time and effort.
|Chopped onion||1/2 cup|
|Chopped garlic||2 tablespoons|
|Green peas||1/4 cup|
|Chopped tomatoes||1/4 cup|
|Cinnamon stick||1 inch|
|Cumin seeds||2 teaspoons|
|Ginger garlic paste||1/2 tablespoon|
|Red chili powder||1/4 tablespoon|
|Tamarind paste||2 tablespoons|
|Turmeric powder||1/4 tablespoon|
|Bay leaf||1 inch|
|Green chili whole||2|
|Olive oil||2 tablespoons|
Set Instant pot in saute settings. Once the inner pot is hot pour oil into it. After oil gets hot put cumin and cinnamon stick and bay leaf. And saute a bit.
Now add onion and garlic and green chilies whole and keep saute till onion becomes translucent.
Now add ginger garlic paste and cashews and saute a bit and then add tomatoes.
Now add tamarind paste and saute quickly after a min add green peas ( you can add here any other green veggies; if you want). Now Turn off saute mode of Instant pot and turn on Rice mode.
Add 1 cup rice and 1.5 cups of water and cover lid and let it cook in rice more for medium setting.
After Instant pot indicates cooking is complete, your tamarind rice is ready to serve.
