Preparation
Cook the toor dal with salt and turmeric powder until it becomes soft.
Cooking- Step 1
Heat a pan, add ghee, and let it heat. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splatter.

Add the onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add ginger, garlic, and heeng, and sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
- Step 3
Add tomatoes and cover them until they become mushy. Fry all the ingredients for 2-3 minutes.
- Step 4
Add palak (Spinach) to the mixture from step 3 and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Then, add red chili powder and arhar dal masala, mix well, and add the cooked dal.
- Step 5
To prepare the tadka, add ghee to a small pan and let it heat up fully. Then, add chopped garlic and whole red chilies to the ghee. Once all the material is splattered, pour the entire mixture on top of the dal mixture from step 4.
ServingGarnish with cilantro and peanuts, and it's ready to serve.
