Indian Chai

Chai or Indian Chai is a tea cooked with cream and sugar. Chai can be enjoyed at any time of day.

Ingredients

Item Quantity
Water 1.5 cups
Sugar 2.5 tablespoons
Tea powder 1/2 Tablespoons
Whole milk 1/2 cup

 

Cooking
  • Step 1

Add water to the hot pan. Add sugar and tea powder.

  • Step 2

Boil water with sugar and tea powder for around 10 mins in medium heat.

  • Step 3

Once the liquid color turns dark golden brown, add milk into it.

  • Step 4

Boil mixture for 5 more mins. Once the liquid turns light brown, your tea is ready to serve.

You can boil longer in case if you like a more dark taste of tea.

Serving

Filter the liquid into 2 teacups and serve with cookies or hot pakoras.
