Matar Paneer is also known as Mattar Paneer. This north Indian dish is a very famous dish, it's a mild spicy curry cooked with very aromatic spices.

Cashews | 1/4 cup |
Chopped tomatoes | 1 cup |
Chopped cilantro | 1/4 cup |
Butter | 4 tablespoons |
Kasuri Methi | 1/2 tablespoon |
Oil | 2 tablespoons |
Salt | 1/2 teaspoon |
Cooking
- Step 1
Heat a pan and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot add green peas and saute quickly for 2-3 mins and take all green peas out from the pan. Once splattering finishes, add green chilies, ginger and saute a bit.
- Step 2
Heat another pan and add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1/4 oil. Once the butter melts and add all paneer cubes and saute for 3-4 mins in medium heat. Once the paneer is very lightly fried and take out all paneer cubes from the pan.

Heat up the same pan and add 1 tablespoon oil, add onion once the oil is hot. Saute for 2-3 minutes and then add ginger garlic paste. Saute ginger garlic paste along with the onion for another 2-3 minutes in medium heat.

Add cashews and tomatoes in a mixture of step 3 and cook until all tomatoes get soften. Turn off the heat and let it cool down.

Put a cold down mixture of step 4 in a grinder and make a fine paste.

Heat up a deep pan and add 1 tablespoon butter and 1/2 tablespoon oil. Once the oil is hot add jeera, after splattering of jeera finishes, add a mixture of step 5 and saute for 2-3 minutes. Let this mixture cook till oil separates out.

Now add green peas and paneer and mix with a mixture of step 6. Add one cup of water and let it cook for another 5-6 minutes in low-medium heat.

Once a boil comes. add cilantro and garam masala and turn off the heat. This makes your Matar Paneer ready to serve.
Serving
You can sprinkle finely chopped fresh cilantro on top of Matar Paneer. Serve hot Matar paneer along with naan or chapati.
