Ingredients
Item | Quantity |
---|---|
Wheat flour | 2 cups |
Fine mashed boiled potato | 1.5 cups |
Semolina | 2 tablespoons |
Turmeric Powder | 1/4 teaspoon |
Asafetida powder | one pinch |
Cardamom seeds | 1/4 teaspoon |
Red chili flakes | 1/2 teaspoon |
Finely chopped green chilies | 2 pieces |
Finely chopped Ginger | 1/2 teaspoon |
Green coriander leaves | 1 tablespoon |
Salt | 1/2 tablespoon |
Vegetable Oil | 2 Cups for deep frying |
Cooking
- Step 1
Take wheat flour and semolina in a large bowl and add one teaspoon of oil, mixing well.
- Step 2
Add mashed potatoes and other spices to the mixture from step 1. Add water little by little, so the wheat flour and potatoes start binding together.
Make sure the dough is tight, so don’t mix in extra water.
- Step 3
Keep the dough aside and cover it with a slightly moist cloth. And wait for approximately 20 minutes.
- Step 4
Knead the dough for another minute, and then cut it into 2-inch pieces and roll out the pooris.
- Step 5
Heat a pan with 2 cups of oil. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium and fry the pooris until they are deep golden brown.
Your hot Aloo masala pooris are ready to serve.
