Ingredients

Item Quantity
Paneer cubes 2 cups
Corn Flour 4 tablespoons
Soy Sauce 1 teaspoon
Vinager 1 teaspoon
Chopped green onion 1/4 cup
Maida 3 tablespoons
Finely chopped spring onion 1/4 cup
Black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Ginger 1 tablespoon
Garlic 2 tablespoons
Square-cut Onion 1/2 cup
Square-cut bell pepper 1/4 cup
Square-cut tomato pieces 1/4 cup
Slit green chilies 3-4
Green Chili sauce 1 tablespoon
Sweet and sour sauce 1 tablespoon
Tomato ketchup 1 teaspoon
Oil 4 tablespoon
Salt 1 teaspoon

Preparation

To prepare the batter for gravy, take a medium-sized bowl and add two tablespoons of cornstarch. Then, add 1/4 cup of water. Mix the cornstarch and water thoroughly, ensuring they are well combined. And keep this batter for 5 minutes.

Cooking
  • Step 1

To prepare the coating for Paneer, take a medium-sized bowl and add maida, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Then, add water and mix well. Ensure the mixture is neither too thick nor too runny. It should coat the paneer if you dip a cube of paneer and pull out.

  • Step 2

Now dip the Paneer cubes one by one and coat with the mixture of step 1.

  • Step 3

Heat a deep fry pan and add oil to it. Once the oil is hot, start frying the coated paneer pieces. Ensure the coated paneer is golden brown, not too dark.

Remove the fried paneer pieces from the oil and place them outside to cool.

  • Step 4

Heat a pan (preferably a wok pan) and add two tablespoons of oil. Once the oil is hot, add ginger, garlic, and slit green chilies, and sauté all these for 2 minutes.

  • Step 5

Add soy sauce, green chili sauce, sweet and sour sauce, ketchup, and vinegar, and mix everything well.

  • Step 6

Add some water, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and batter (which you kept aside after the preparation stage), and sauté well. Make sure the gravy gets thick. You can adjust the water based on your desired consistency.

  • Step 7

Add the paneer cubes to the mixture and toss well, ensuring the paneer coating remains intact during the tossing process. And turn off the heat, and your chili paneer is ready to serve.

Serving

Serve hot Chili Paneer with garnishing of spring onions on top. Enjoy Chili Paneer as a snack or an appetizer.
